To Quit or Not to Quit?

To Quit or Not to Quit?

A very hard question with millions of possible answers.

Don’t Quit
If you quit, the world might know that you gave up – and maybe that’s a little embarrassing…
But the worst is that *you* will know you gave up. That is the soul crusher.
And that knowledge never goes away.
You will always ask yourself: “what if I continued …”

Quit
But there comes a time where we need to decide that We have to stop otherwise it disrupts our mental state
It’s better to giveup the things that will not workout and focus on the things that works better for you
There is a difference between giving up, and making an informed decision to quit.
The second is far easier to live with.

Knowing when to quit (or at least pivot) when something isn’t working is a valuable skill
The embarrassment of quitting and then publicly saying “I was wrong, here’s why” might keep people going longer than they should
It’s the worst feeling. I call it spiritual death. It’s the death of your spirit. You can always come back to life though.
It is not okay to quit because you simply give up; it is okay to quit because you realize you’ve gone down the wrong path – and you can course- correct now.

This is a common question that many people face at some point in their lives.

Remember – Only you can take this decision.

Try asking yourself below questions:

1. Why did you start?
Why you are not able to remove the reason you started in first place? Will quitting solve that problem? Did you start as an overreaction or a knee jerk reaction? Was the previous situation better than currnet situation? Can you change this in next 3 years?

2. Why are you thinking of Quitting?
Do you see no hope? Are you feeling burned out, stressed out, bored, or unfulfilled? Are you facing ethical dilemmas or personal conflicts? Are you out of cash?

3. What are your options?
What are your plans for the future? Do you have another opportunity? Do a SWOT of all other options available? Do you have enough savings to support yourself until you find a new option? Do you have a clear idea of what kind of job or career you want next? How realistic are your expectations and goals?

4. Seek advice and support.
Seek advice from your mentors, experienced professionals, your seniors, your well wishers, etc

5. Prepare yourselfand your family mentally and emotionally.
You may experience feelings of guilt relief regret anxiety excitement doubt etc as well as reactions from others such as praise criticism support opposition etc You may also face challenges such as adjusting to a new work environment learning new skills dealing with uncertainty coping with rejection etc

Whatever you do – take an informed well-calculated decision.

Never ever compromise on your mental and physical peace and happiness.

I hope this helps! 😊

Attitude and achievements are two concepts that are deeply interconnected, and both play a crucial role in determining an individual’s success in life.

Attitude refers to the way we think, feel, and behave in response to a particular situation or stimulus. On the other hand, achievements refer to the outcomes that we produce through our actions and efforts.

Our attitude towards life determines how we approach different challenges and opportunities. It influences our perceptions, beliefs, and values, which in turn impact our actions and decisions. A positive attitude can help us see the bright side of things and find solutions to problems, while a negative attitude can make us feel hopeless and defeated.

Karenge (Will do), Larenge (Will fight) ya jiyenge (Will survive)

In real life situations or business environment, we encounter the following scenarios:

  • Scenario 1: Yes I CAN…, trying my best, should be able to achieve it , will somehow make it happen …. Signifying Positive attitude.
  • Scenario 2: I do not think… we would be able to finally make it. So many challenges, so very difficult, I am not very hopeful… indicating Negative Attitude.

The above two attributes may run on two parallel tracks but impediment in one stagnates the other.

“Self-driven motivation is a prerequisite towards achieving goals and that has to be triggered by positive approach and attitude.”

Any Business Environment demands patience, thoughtful insights in planning which can only lead to the roadmap towards success.

This has to be preceded by the right attitude first, then the skills will follow its own path leading to achievement of GOALS.

Imagine a sprinting field .. two runners racing against each other, One ATTITUDE and one ACHIEVEMENT. If one stumbles, the other slows down and destination becomes smoky.

Let us look at the inventory of challenges in a typical business environment.

What are the usual business challenges?  achieve Topline, achieve Bottomline, achieve Productivity of manpower resources present and plan or plan for enhancement in future. These are the bricks to build an organization or you call it building blocks.

Why Business only? let us relate to life situations …. Any relationship to stagnate, deteriorate or enhance is primarily dependant on attitude.

So, what next? A sales Scenario or subsequently “customer satisfaction” primarily stems from Attitude. customers stick to the Relationship which emanates right attitude.

The people, teams and manpower resources should be tuned towards the following:

The goal is defined. The KRA is defined, these are the activities necessary but what if it matures or does not mature … do I have the right attitude to achieve it. Do I have the right attitude to modify my approach if I face with Failure. what are the options A, B and C?

Let us realize it. Let us recognize it. That is the first step and the last step. All the best to “MYSELF”!

Can we seek a self-exploration through the following quotes … do we practice it ? do we possess these within ourselves ?

Can we Cultivate a positive mental attitude towards success? Let us have a look at the quotes below and try to relate to live scenarios we face in everyday life and MODIFY our attitudes.

In conclusion, the relationship between attitude and achievements is a complex and dynamic one. Our attitude influences our actions, which in turn determine our achievements. At the same time, our achievements can shape our attitude and outlook on life. By cultivating a positive attitude and persistently working towards our goals, we can achieve great things and live a fulfilling life.
